First Post!!

Blueberry Brooch

To start off my blog I thought I would start with my most recent finished project. This is a brooch inspired by a blueberry both in the form and the pattern. The pattern is a microscopic look at a blueberry floral bud (see the original image here). The piece is enameled in several layers using seed beads and silver granules for the detail work.  The finished brooch has about a 3in diameter and is 1.5 in tall. 

The images on the left is a water color rendering I painted while planning out several ideas for this brooch.
